Bilingual English/German Daycare – Bern

At Metamorphosis Kita in Bern, we believe in nurturing children's growth through a warm, bilingual (English/German) environment. We are looking for a dedicated and organised Deputy Kita Manager (20%) to join our team immediately.

Responsibilities (English)

- Support the overall management of the Kita in close cooperation with the Kita Director
- Ensure the educational concept is implemented and developed
- Lead and support the pedagogical team in their daily work
- Handle scheduling, coordination, and administrative tasks within your working hours
- Communicate effectively with parents and external partners in German and English
- Ensure compliance with cantonal regulations, safety, and quality standards (e.g., QualiKita, Kibesuisse)
- Participate in recruiting, onboarding, and developing team members
- Represent the Kita in the absence of the Director

Aufgaben (Deutsch)

- Unterstützung der Gesamtleitung der Kita in enger Zusammenarbeit mit der Kita-Direktion
- Sicherstellung und Weiterentwicklung des pädagogischen Konzepts
- Führung und Unterstützung des pädagogischen Teams im Arbeitsalltag
- Übernahme von Planungs-, Koordinations- und Administrationsaufgaben im Rahmen des Arbeitspensums
- Kommunikation mit Eltern und externen Partnern in Deutsch und Englisch
- Einhaltung kantonaler Vorschriften, Sicherheits- und Qualitätsstandards (z. B. QualiKita, Kibesuisse)
- Mitarbeit bei Rekrutierung, Einarbeitung und Entwicklung von Teammitgliedern
- Vertretung der Kita-Leitung bei deren Abwesenheit

Requirements (English)

- Completed Swiss-recognised childcare qualification (FaBe Kind or SBFI-recognised equivalent)
- Additional leadership or management training (CAS Kita-Leitung, CAS Leadership, Leadership SVF, or similar)
- Several years of experience in early childhood education, ideally with leadership/deputy leadership experience
- Very good German  and good English
- Strong organisational skills and independent working style
- Knowledge of Swiss childcare regulations and quality standards
- Valid Swiss work permit and clean criminal record check
- Current child first aid certification (e.g., BLS-AED-SRC)

Anforderungen (Deutsch)

- Abgeschlossene, in der Schweiz anerkannte Ausbildung als Fachfrau/Fachmann Betreuung – Kinder (oder gleichwertiger, vom SBFI anerkannter Abschluss)
- Zusatzausbildung in Führung oder Management (CAS Kita-Leitung, CAS Leadership, Leadership SVF oder vergleichbar)
- Mehrjährige Berufserfahrung in der Kinderbetreuung, idealerweise mit Führungs- oder Stellvertretungsfunktion
- Sehr gute Deutschkenntnisse  und gute Englischkenntnisse
- Ausgeprägte Organisationsfähigkeit und selbstständige Arbeitsweise
- Kenntnisse der schweizerischen Vorschriften und Qualitätsstandards
- Gültige Arbeitserlaubnis für die Schweiz sowie ein aktueller, einwandfreier Strafregisterauszug
- Aktuelle Erste-Hilfe-Ausbildung für Kinder (z. B. BLS-AED-SRC)
